Super Eagles and Lazio midfielder Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is closing in on a comeback from a thigh injury, with reports suggesting he could return to full training as early as September 9–10.
Bench Spot the Realistic Target
Dele-Bashiru has been sidelined since August 25 after limping off during Lazio’s win over Bologna, with earlier reports pointing to an October return.
A place on the bench for Saturday’s game against AC Milan — rather than a starting role — is seen as the realistic target, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.
His recovery is also being closely watched by Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle, with Nigeria set to open its 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying campaign later this month against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau.
