The United States has delivered another consignment of military equipment to Nigeria as part of ongoing efforts to counter terrorism in the country.
AFRICOM Confirms Delivery
US Africa Command (AFRICOM) said the equipment was flown in aboard a US Air Force C-17 aircraft under a foreign military sales agreement.
“Partnership In Action: A U.S. Air Force C-17 delivers equipment to the Nigerian Air Force this weekend,” AFRICOM said in a post on X.
The command did not disclose the type or quantity of equipment delivered, and Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters has yet to confirm receipt.
Director of Defence Information, Major General Samaila Uba, declined to comment on the delivery but had earlier said a reported withdrawal of about 200 US personnel does not signal any breakdown in the security partnership.
