Macron Hosts Tinubu for Private Dinner in Paris, Strengthens Nigeria-France Ties

French President Emmanuel Macron hosted Nigerian President Bola Tinubu to a private dinner at the Élysée Palace in Paris on Thursday night.

Tinubu disclosed the meeting in a post on his official X handle, describing the dinner with Macron as a pleasure.

The Nigerian president said their discussions reaffirmed the strong relationship between Nigeria and France and highlighted their shared commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation.

“Our conversation reaffirmed the strong friendship between Nigeria and France, as well as our shared commitment to deepening cooperation and building a mutually beneficial partnership between our two nations,” Tinubu said.

Tinubu also thanked Macron for his hospitality and friendship.

“I thank President Macron for his warm hospitality and friendship,” the president added.

In a separate statement, the meeting was described as reflecting the enduring relationship between Nigeria and France and their shared commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
