Residential People Announces New & Improved Maps View Feature

The South African real estate portals Residential People and Commercial People are proud to announce the launch of a new and improved Map View search function that will make property searching quicker and more convenient than ever before.

The enhanced Map View feature – which is now live across both Commercial and Residential People, has vastly improved its user-friendliness by allowing consumers to quickly see the price of a property on the map at a glance.

Unlike other property portals, which bombard their users with a slew of identical icons across a map, Residential People’s vastly improved Maps View allows consumers to accurately see a sleek, visual representation of the most affordable areas within their specified location.

The new Maps View goes above and beyond what is currently available elsewhere, offering greater functionality and delivering a more intuitive user experience.

As shown in the image above, upon visiting Map View, a user will now see a dynamic cluster of properties across their specified area, indicated by an average price. Clicking a cluster will cause it to expand while the map zooms in to show the user a more accurate and detailed map view of the individual properties available.

By using the new Map View, consumers can now quickly see the price of a property at a glance, as well as further filtering their results to display a cluster of properties organized by the highest or lowest price within their requested price range.

Besides being able to see the price of a property on the map more quickly, a user can now view full details about the property and even make an enquiry on a listing without ever leaving the map view.

Giving his thoughts on the enhanced Maps View feature, Christopher May, Director of Commercial & Residential People, said: “This feature should prove to be really useful and valuable to most people who want to quickly and efficiently locate the very best properties for their needs, but it is especially useful for those on a tight budget who don’t want to waste time trawling through properties in areas which are not affordable to them”, he continued.

“Anything that makes things quicker and easier for users of our portals is a massive priority for us in terms of development and ongoing innovation, and our new Maps View feature certainly falls very squarely into that category.”

While the enhanced Map View gives an extra level of convenience to the average house-hunter, both commercial property investors and residential landlords alike also stand to benefit from the feature.

Both commercial & residential property investors can use the tool to identify lower-than-average-priced properties within an area, allowing them to make a more informed decision about any properties they may wish to add to their portfolio.

Meanwhile, residential & commercial-focused property developers can also take advantage of the improved Maps View, using the housing data provided to show areas of potential for their future projects.

Christopher May adds: “We are delighted to be able to announce that we now have this exciting and important development to our product offering fully live on all our portals, and especially proud of the fact that it represents another important step on our overall corporate mission to create the most valuable and user-friendly property search tools for consumers in the world.”

While this update represents a significant enhancement to the overall property search functionality available to users of the platforms, Residential People is not simply resting on their laurels, as the team are already hard at work on further additions and features to the portal.

We look forward to sharing more details on further developments over the coming weeks and months.
