A presidential aide has urged Nigerian students not to drop out of school over financial hardship, pointing to the Nigerian Education Loans Fund (NELFUND) as proof that support is available.

The aide said NELFUND has removed a major financial barrier to tertiary education by offering interest-free loans, with eligible students also able to access monthly upkeep.
“No Nigerian should be forced to abandon education simply because their family cannot afford the cost,” the aide said.
The official also urged students to embrace technical and vocational training, digital skills, AI and entrepreneurship, and highlighted a separate initiative distributing laptops to outstanding computer science and computer engineering students selected by their institutions.
