Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, has assured stakeholders in Zamfara State that President Bola Tinubu remains committed to tackling insecurity and restoring peace across the state.
Matawalle spoke in Kaduna while meeting former members of the Zamfara State House of Assembly, former commissioners, special advisers and other political stakeholders from the state.
Matawalle Defends Tinubu’s Security Efforts
The minister said insecurity remains one of the administration’s major priorities and maintained that the Federal Government was taking steps to improve security across the country.
He said President Tinubu had demonstrated strong commitment to protecting Nigerians and strengthening the country’s security architecture.
“Security of lives and property is the major concern of every serious government in any country. That is why the APC-led administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has focused strongly on securing the nation,” Matawalle said.
According to him, the government’s approach involves continued engagement with security agencies, stakeholders and communities affected by banditry.
Zamfara Stakeholders Rally Support
The Kaduna meeting also provided an opportunity for political stakeholders from Zamfara to discuss the security situation and the need for greater cooperation.
Matawalle urged stakeholders to work together with the Federal Government and security agencies instead of allowing political differences to undermine efforts to tackle insecurity.
He maintained that the fight against banditry requires cooperation between government, traditional institutions, community leaders and residents.
Government Promises Continued Action
The minister assured residents that the Federal Government would not abandon communities affected by bandit attacks.
He said the government would continue to support security agencies in their operations while working towards creating conditions for displaced residents to return to their communities.
The meeting came amid continued concerns over insecurity in parts of Zamfara and other states in the North-West.
