Sanwo-Olu assures investors of business-friendly policies

The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that his administration is committed to providing a friendly environment for businesses to thrive.

The governor stated this during a parley with heads of agencies and parastatals as well as government-owned companies at the secretariat, Alausa, Ikeja, on Tuesday.

He said the officials needed to know that as heads of parastatals and government-owned companies, they had a pivotal role to play in providing the leadership that would facilitate the delivery of dividends of democracy to people through efficient and effective implementation of government policies and programmes.

Sanwo-Olu said, “Central to our vision is the establishment of an investment-driven economy that attracts global investors. We must strive to create an enabling environment that fosters innovation, entrepreneurship, and business growth. Through targeted policies and initiatives, we can position our state as a prime destination for investment, unlocking new opportunities for prosperity and development.

“Our state, with its vibrant economy and diverse population, faces both challenges and opportunities. We must work together, leveraging our collective expertise and resources, to address these challenges and seize these opportunities.”

The governor added that he was committed to “enhancing the welfare and prosperity of each citizen.”

“The current administration remains resolute in its efforts to foster a favourable environment for business operations,” he said.

Last November, Sanwo-Olu reached out to investors in Africa and worldwide to invest in the state’s infrastructure, promising huge returns on investment.

The governor, who spoke at the Africa Investment Forum in Marrakech, Morocco, with the theme, ‘Leveraging Cities and Municipalities for National Development,’ noted that Lagos welcomed investment in new areas of transport infrastructure, especially in rail lines.
